President's Day overcomes surprise wet weather

President's Day on Saturday21st June was an excellent event despite the first rain for what seems like months. The organiser had words about this but none of them are repeatable here. Despite the rain, which did stop, members enjoyed the traditional spider and a short triples competition followed by a very silly but enjoyable game of corner-to-corner before an wonderful buffet to celebrate our 2025 President Stuart Jordan. Stuart gave an entertaining account of his time at the club from complete beginners to now when he and his wife Elainie are multiple club championship winners and team captains as well as invaluable members of the Club Committee. Congratulations to Stuart who was joined by Elainie as well as their family. Stuart may well have the distinction of being our Last President as last years AGM voted to dispense with the role
